Admin - @confessor: I am an ass not evil. :-/
P.S. - @confessor: Have patience and learn to say NO sometimes. HVC + peace of mind is far better than EC + suicidal tendency.
A quick switch after 2 yrs will help you to sort out all these troubles. Till then just treat your senior how you treat Diarrhea.
TCS:
I am working in TCS since last 3 years in the same ISU (GE) "GE ISU associates can co-relate" and I have seen 50-60 people coming and going in the project.
First of all I don't regret that I joined TCS and stayed here for 3 long years as I still believe its the best company for freshers as well as for experienced personals.
The problem is with the higher management(managers and account heads) of GE-Mumbai , for them equality for all is the myth and the juniors are like nobody to these people and I personally think these people are liabilities to the company which are sitting at higher positions are doing nothing and by nothing I seriously means nothing.
In the brand like TCS which is known for employee satisfaction and work-life balance these people have created so much of the negative environment that everyone wants to come out the void either by taking release(which is only a joke for TCS-GE) or they have to look options outside.
Coming to HR's ...HRs are for listening the problems of the employees and they do their work very sincerely but they only listen to the account managers.
Its my request to spread this post as much as you can so it can reach the TCS-GE leadership.
Solution for all the above problems:Initiative should be started where there will be individual F2F discussions between associates and higher management without the managers of the same project and legitimate reasons should be considered on priority.
L & T
It was the day when 5000 engineers across the nation were proud of themselves and every moment of hard work, of the recruits and their parents paid off.
They were recruited by L & T infotech.
The software giant with revenue US$ 810 million (2014) had asked 1500 of them to appear for an examination by saying it was only a matter of prioritising the dates of joining.
After 1 and half years of waiting, as it turned out to be, the offer letters of candidates were revoked. Thier dreams shattered only to find themselves in the blues of jobless agony.
IBM:
"I am a crossdresser and the clothes kept for donation at the basement at Manyata was tempting me to pick it up. I stole it, wore it once and now I am donating them to a donation centre in Bangalore.
I just wanted to apologize to whosoever the clothes belonged to but I guess you will forgive me for this as I made it reach it's destination now and IBM has put a notice there to pick back the clothes as Kashmir flood relief is closed now.
Sorry again! "
Admin: Stealing the clothes which were kept for this purpose..?! Did you think that was the hike for you?
P.S: I'm leaving this planet.
Anyone wants to join me?
TCS:
"I would like to see the person who has seleted a worthless fresher like you!"
-- 5 years ago, my team lead in tcs told me that , along with many other things. This was one month after I completed my ilp, two weeks after I joined the project. I had two options. One, keep my head down and try to fit in. Two, take a huge career risk and try something new....
2 days later I resigned. i remember I was very scared that day, scared for my future. My parents were furious, my colleagues laughed at my stupidity.
I have to tell you that it's not an easy decision to bear. Unemployment plays tricks with your mind, holds you down, depresses you....Suddenly you realise your dad is retiring next year, your brother is preparing for engineering...and you promised your grandfather a new watch. You remember you told your mom that after you get a job electricity bill is on you....the cash flow, however small that is, is gone.
...If you can survive that, life will make you stronger. It will make you a person you never thought you would be. All you need is a half baked plan and a whole lot of courage, courage to fail first couple of times figuring out things....
But you know what! The day you get your first break, from that day on, there'll be no one stop you. You will embrace challanges, you will love handling difficulties. You will know to give your 100%, and you will know that will be enough for anything.
I see companies like tcs ruining aspiring people's careers everyday. I see helpless people hating their job, I see weekend works without leave or pay and somehow making employees believe that is normal. I see 4% hikes!
If you are reading this and can relate...believe me, you are better than that. All you need is a whole lot of courage...and a half baked plan.
As for me, well..... let's just say now people in my company know me as a guy who handles the most difficult technical problems, I have a terrific team, and my lead /manager dares not to speak with me in a less than polite manner.
